The 3 Wives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"
Conclusion:
Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives:
  • a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.
  • b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.
  • c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.
  • d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.
I'm not being a preacher here but reality is, this is only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament.

Defying Gravity
*Glee*

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!

It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I am defying gravity
And you wont bring me down!

I'm through accepting limits
''cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try, I'll never know!
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost!

I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you wont bring me down!

I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And never bring me down!
bring me down!
ohh ohhh ohhhh!

Me, Myself and I

Everything has its own ways of unveiling. Some heroic, some catastrophic or sometimes its even whimsical. You'll never know whats in it for you unless you tried going to one of those doors, opening it and realizing what it has done. Regrets can start building up, but if your gonna be positive enough, your going to see the other picture of the decision that you had made. Lately, everything that I went through has not been easy. Well it never did since I woke up from reality, but I think I am just starting to enjoy everything that I'm not. It's not with the spot light , nor the amazing stuffs that I could actually do. But its the thought that your able to reach everything you wanted to do, with no one telling or hindering you to do so. And by those things, you motivate everything around you, make enemies for those who envy you and being able to hit back anyone that you wanted to. I know freedom had been always been mine, but freedom I had experience lately was compelling and such a wonderful feeling. I know everything wont last, I'm writing this down to remind me of this day I realized that I am happy being alone, with nothing to think on. Just me, myself and I.

Reality Chase

Sometimes I thought of life is a big lie for me. Not everything in this world had been real for me I think, aside from my friends. Even my emotions, I usually fake it out, like everything is nuisance. I don't even know how to decipher reality and dream anymore. Sometimes I would want to wish dream to last more than it should, but when hit back by reality, it disappears. Dream for me is like smoke that disappears upon the strong blow of the wind. But I do have my plans to build on, some expectation that I wanted to meet and some achievement that I have to achieved. Its just the fact that, I don't know where to place it within me. They said it will be good for reality, but it feels better for me when I place it on my dreams. Now I'm confuse as well if my existence is real.

A Scenery of Regression

It was a dawn of nostalgia. A night after an explosion of an emotional spree. I can hear myself breathing, gasping for breath. A breathing waiting for a perfect timing to jest out. It's one cold night. Everybody else are feeling it but it feels more colder within. I can't hardly see where I am going but I do trust the light of the moon, guiding me to where ever I am heading. I can hear an eerie whistling, probably its just the wind but nevertheless I don't even care. The cold wind digging deeper into my skin wanting it to make me feel the naked coldness of it. I know, even the cold damp of the wind, is trying to stop me to go forth. I am no where, but I am seeking for something, a quench of something to make this feeling go away.

I stood still, moved a bit and watched myself cautiously. I find myself beautiful, well everybody are but I think its all a waste. I feel completely pathetic, untenable. I wanted to make it stop, but it seems like nobody can help me from stopping it. I cried, as I cried I was watching my tears fell from my cheek. Every drop of it I tried to count it, but it wasn't helping. I stopped cause what I'm doing was not helping. I look up, and watched the stars. I was looking for my favorite star. The one that always shine amidst of the clouds that tries to cover it. It was there, just shining. It was waiting for me to talk. No, probably waiting for me to cry out and shout everything I had. But I know it can't hear me. Though it shines brightly telling me that it will always be there, watching me.

I look closer to a sight, a sight I always loved to watch but it doesn't help. Its the calmness of the sea, the mirroring light of the moon lighting up the ocean with a conservative manner. Yeah, the sight I always loved to watch, so good yet so hard to find. The sumptuous feeling watching that sight. I remember how I long for such feeling, and how everything fades. Maybe its not for me to have. Maybe I am really bound to lose it or maybe I'm not just fortunate. Or maybe, I am too selfish on sharing it.

This feeling of desperation and guilt, its sickening me. This malevolent feeling. I wish it would stop.

I looked up on the stars, letting the stars know how helpless I am. I walked back. Trying to feed the thought I just had realize. It seems like I am aloof to this.

Then I realize, its better to dream.

Top 10 Amazing Moon Facts

This is some interesting facts about the moon. Got this one from LiveScience.com.

Top Ten Amazing Moon Facts

#10
The Big Whack

The moon formed as a result of a collision known as the Giant Impact or the Big Whack, scientists figure. It went like this: A giant Mars-sized object hit Earth 4.6 billion years ago shortly after the birth of the sun and the solar system. A cloud of vaporized rock was kicked up (a mix of Earth and the other object) and went into orbit around Earth. The cloud cooled and condensed into a ring of small, solid bodies, which then gathered together, forming the moon.

#9
Earth Makes the Moon Rise

Each day, though not at the same time, the moon comes up in the East and goes down in the West -- much like the sun and other stars and for the same reason:

Earth rotates, on its axis, toward the East, pulling celestial objects into view and then forcing them to slip away. The moon also makes an orbital trip around Earth once every 29.5 days. In the sky, this gradual movement is eastward, though it's not perceptible during any given observing session. It is, however, why the moon rises later each day, by about 50 minutes on average.

That also explains why the moon sometimes rises in the evening and us up during the night, while at other times it's up only or mostly during the day.

#8
No 'Dark Side'

Contrary to what you might have heard, there is no "dark side" of the moon. There is, however, a "far side" that we can't see from Earth. Here's why:

Long ago, the Earth's gravitational effects slowed the moon's rotation about its axis. Once the moon's rotation slowed enough to match its orbital period (the time it takes the moon to go around Earth) the effect stabilized.

So the moon goes around the Earth once and spins on its axis once, all in the same amount of time, and it shows us just one face the whole time.

#7
Gravity is Much Less

The moon is about 27 percent the size of Earth and far less massive. Gravity on the moon is only about 1/6 of that on Earth. If you drop a rock on the moon, it falls more slowly (and astronauts can hope much higher). If you weigh 150 pounds on Earth, you'd weigh 25 pounds on the moon.

#6
Bigger and Smaller Full Moons

The moon's orbit around Earth is an oval, not a circle, so the distance between the center of Earth and the moon's center varies throughout each orbit. At perigee (PEHR uh jee), when the moon is closest to Earth, that distance is 225,740 miles (363,300 kilometers). At apogee (AP uh jee), the farthest position, the distance is 251,970 miles (405,500 kilometers).

When a full moon rises while it's at apogee, the disk we see can be 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than other full moons.

The moon is not bigger when it rises compared to later at night, however; that's an illusion (one that causes a lot of argument over what causes it). You can test this yourself by holding something about the size of a pencil eraser at arms-length when the moon first rises and looks so huge, then repeat the test later in the evening when the moon is higher and looks smaller. Next to your eraser, it'll look comparatively the same in both tests.

#5
Pockmarked History

The craters on the moon reveal its violent history. Because there is almost no atmosphere and little activity inside the moon, the crater trace a record of impacts back billions of years (unlike Earth, which would have been just as violent back then, but the craters have all been weathered away or folded back into the planet).

By dating the moon's many craters, scientists figured out that the moon (and Earth) underwent a Late Heavy Bombardment around 4 billion years ago. The latest thinking on this pummeling is that life may have survived it, if biology had gotten a foothold that early.

#4
Not Round

The moon is not round (or spherical). Instead, it's shaped like an egg. If you go outside and look up at the moon, one of the small ends is pointing right at you. And the moon's center of mass is not at the geometric center of the satellite; it's about 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) off-center. Earth, likewise, bulges in its midsection

#3
Caution! Moonquakes

Apollo astronauts used seismometers during their visits to the moon and discovered that the gray orb isn't a totally dead place, geologically speaking.

Small moonquakes, originating several miles (kilometers) below the surface, are thought to be caused by the gravitational pull of Earth. Sometimes tiny fractures appear at the surface, and gas escapes.

Scientists say they think the moon probably has a core that is hot and perhaps partially molten, as is Earth's core. But data from NASA's Lunar Prospector spacecraft showed in 1999 that the moon's core is small -- probably between 2 percent and 4 percent of its mass. This is tiny compared with Earth, in which the iron core makes up about 30 percent of the planet's mass.

One engineer thinks these moonquakes should be taken into account when future lunar bases are designed.

#2
Tugging on the Oceans

Tides on Earth are caused mostly by the moon (the sun has a smaller effect). Here's how it works:

The moon's gravity pulls on Earth's oceans. High tide aligns with the moon as Earth spins underneath. Another high tide occurs on the opposite side of the planet because gravity pulls Earth toward the moon more than it pulls the water.

At full moon and new moon, the sun, Earth and moon are lined up, producing higher than normal tides (called spring tides, for the way they spring up). When the moon is at first or last quarter, smaller neap tides form. The moon's 29.5-day orbit around Earth is not quite circular. When the moon is closest to Earth (called its perigee), spring tides are even higher, and they're called perigean spring tides.

All this tugging has another interesting effect: Some of Earth's rotational energy is stolen by the moon, causing our planet to slow down by about 1.5 milliseconds every century.

#1
Ciao, Luna!

As you read this, the moon is moving away from us. Each year, the moon steals some of Earth's rotational energy, and uses it to propel itself about 1.6 inches (4 centimeters) higher in its orbit.

Researchers say that when it formed about 4.6 billion years ago, the moon was about 14,000 miles (22,530 kilometers) from Earth. It's now more than 280,000 miles, or 450,000 kilometers away.

Meanwhile, Earth's rotation rate is slowing down -- our days are getting longer and longer. Eventually, our planet's tidal bulges will be assembled along an imaginary line running through the centers of both Earth and the moon, and our planetary rotational change will pretty much cease. Earth's day will be a month long. When this happens, billions of years from now, the terrestrial month will be longer -- about 40 of our current days -- because during all this time the moon will continue moving away. [full story]

Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie

I just miss everything in Davao. My life, way of living, happiness, enjoyment, sadness and anything I could think of. But as they said, everybody has to grow and up and that everybody has to move on. Now I just have to carry on, and be with myself. But I'll be still the person they know, and the person I will always be wherever I am. Miss you all guys in Davao, I really do. Just sharing out this song.

Big Girls Don't Cry
*Fergie*

The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection, baby
To be with myself and center
Clarity, peace, serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do

And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry

The path that I'm walkin', I must go alone
I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown
Fairy tales don't always have a happy ending, do they?
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do

And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and Uno cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be mine
Valentine

Yes, you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers
And share our secret worlds

But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself, and center
Clarity, peace, serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do

And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry

Bacolod Sweet Delicacies

I'm sure not all or everyone are aware of Bacolod's delicacy, and so far I have tasted already some of it here in the City of Smile. Here are some of the delicacies that can be mostly found in Bacolod which is hard or too expensive to find at other places. Here are some sweets that I already tasted here in Bacolod, and I would say, its really damn good and cost less if your gonna buy it here.

PIAYA

This is the pride and most sought-after pasalubong from Bacolod City, the Special Piaya its distinct sweetness and moist filling leaves a satisfying taste to the palate which makes it the number one and most requested pasalubong from family, friends, and relatives who visit Bacolod. The product has become so in demand that this has been available everywhere in the national store.

The shape of special Piaya is usually round and flat: the filling is moist which is usually caramel-flavored and ube-flavored. Enriched flour, sugar, salt, butter and sesame seeds make up this delicacy which Filipinos have learned to love for the past years. And know what, this comes in two flavors here in Bacolod, thats Flat and Piaya Ube.

PASTILLAS DE MANGA

Who could have thought that Pastillas Mango flavor exist in this City. The dough that filled with sweet blend ripe mango inside that gives the best taste to everyone. Its a bit different from the known pastillas aside from the flavor fillings that it has cause its shaped with a dough, but it do taste good.

BISCOCHO

Made from bread topped with butter and sugar, Biscocho has become a part of the Filipino cuisine, its somewhat like thesame with a Toasted Bread but made differently since they have to bake the said delicacy then toast it. A lot of cities in the Philippines carry the Biscocho as their primary delicacy product. But what makes Biscocho different from other is that it breaks out from the usual ingredients to create a quality product. Most bakeries use old bread to make biscocho but here in Bacolod, they bake their own bread so it's clean and let the bread hang for four days until it gets hard and ready to be topped with butter or sugar. Then it's baked to the right temperature and time to create a crunchy, delicious biscocho for everybody's enjoyment.

KWAKOY

One of the oldest native delicacies of Bacolod City is the "Kwakoy". It can also be found in different stores in downtown area of the Negros Occidental capital city. This delicacy is made of native rice (any variety with white and soft grains when cooked), washed sugar, malagkit or glutinous rice, and milk powder. Honestly, this taste like somewhat like pulburon, but its better than it.

Mending and Healing a Broken Heart

Moving on is the hardest thing for one's relationship. Even if it lasted for years or even just months, its not easy to leave everything just behind. This is not just like a habit that you can easily forget, its something more than that it prickles when remembered. But as they said, sometimes happiness can be found out in moving on. So people who are heart broken out there, look on the other side and stand up. There are a lot of things to cherish than crying for a person who had broken your heart. Here are some things to read on which might help especially for healing and mending a broken heart. I've read this article from Broken-heart-help.com and is very helpful in terms of opening your minds and thoughts in healing and mending a heart. Hope this works for you.

Heart Broken

Many old fictional stories have characters that die after going through a devastating loss. Although even in reality people die from what appears to be a broken heart. Broken heart syndrome is usually blamed for the passing of someone whose spouse is already deceased, even though the actual cause is not always so clear. The condition can be triggered by sudden emotional stress caused by a traumatic breakup, the death of a loved one, or even the shock of a surprise party.

Broken Heart syndrome is clinically different from a heart attack because the patient have few risk factors for heart disease and were previously healthy prior to the heart muscles weakening. The recovery rates for those suffering from broken heart syndrome are faster than those who had heart attacks and complete recovery to the heart was achieved within two weeks.

As Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson states:

As people, we are not aware all the time of our feelings, and just like animals, we may not be able to put words to them very easily. This certainly does not mean that the feelings do not exist.

Sigmund Freud once speculated that a man could be in love with a woman for six years and not know it until many years later. Such a man, with all the goodwill in the world, could not have verbalized what he did not know.

He had the feelings, but he did not know about them. Perhaps this does sound like some sort of paradox. When we think of a feeling, we think of something that we are consciously aware of feeling. As Freud put it in an article written in 1915, The Unconscious: 'It is surely of the essence of an emotion that we should be aware of it.' Yet it is beyond question that we can 'have' feelings that we do not know about.

Health Of Your Heart

Our hearts can be tormented and troubled. They can be squashed and pressured, both from a psychological and emotional point of view. This can be to such a point where they actually begin to result in physical health problems, thus, a broken heart can be considered quite literal. Losing someone you love can cause major problems to our hearts.

Over the course of a life time, most people (at one time or another) will experience a long trial of sadness or loss.

Much research has proven that hearts living under this pain don't just suffer emotionally, they all suffer physically. Deep feelings of depression, loneliness, and sadness can actually lead to problems like heart disease.

Researchers have found that what we all feel and the way we think directly effects the health of our heart. A study showed that people living under this pain can literally even die from a 'broken heart'. It is important to try and overcome the pain so that it doesn't drag on longer than it has to.

Consider the lessons that you have learned, and how you are smarter as a result of the experience. Think about this often, as it will help lift you and let you see some positive signs.

Find a treatment that works for you - this can be talking with those who care about you, other groups of support, perhaps something like psychotherapy or meditation. There are lots of techniques available to help heal your heart.

Get busy doing what it takes to become well!

Begin To Heal

There is nothing funny about having a broken heart. If you are reading this, I am sure you know that. Your stressed body will begin to accumulate all sorts of feelings on top of the depression.

Perhaps you lack positive focus and you are having trouble moving away from looking at the negative, leaving you almost completely unable to function. It is important to try to change this, as in a very direct way we experience the emotions that we focus on.

Here are a few steps to consider:

* Grieve
This is the best thing to do after your loss. Try not to avoid this step. It it best to do it immediately, or it may take you longer to heal. Do whatever you need to do to express yourself in this stage, so long as you don't hurt anyone else.

* The Plan
Healing is a journey that needs a plan. This means that you should write down some ways which (you think) will help you - right now! Think about it, and keep thinking about it.

* The Action
Once you have written down some things, make specific plans to act on them soon - and stick to it!

* Suggestions
Accept that you are responsible for your own healing, and take as much time as you need for yourself.

Take action when you are inspired.Forgive people and recognize that we take in what we focus on. This concept is recognized by some people as the law of attraction.

Do not hang around people who make you feel negative or people who complain all the time. Perform any spiritual work that feels right to you, perhaps include affirmations and visualizations. Be grateful.

Heal A Broken Heart

It takes time! Here are some basic tips. Make sure you also read the articles, which you can access from the side menu.

* Honor how you are feeling. This means that you should not pretend that you are ok, when you really aren't. There is nothing wrong with crying.

* Communicate with people that care about you. Make sure you share how you are feeling. Do not underestimate the support that these people can provide.

* Exercise regularly and take care of your health. Often times during the period of having one's heart broken, health may be neglected. If you aren't careful, this can only make things worse.

* Some people like to travel.

* A great way to move through a broken heart is to spend a lot of time doing something you really love. This can be a hobby, work, or anything! If you keep yourself busy you will find yourself moving through the pain faster.

Above all, give yourself time. This type of healing can't be rushed. If you want to restore the relationship, make sure that you figure out why it went wrong before you rush back into it.

City of Smiles: A Prelude

Its my first day today after the never ending journey of me going to the city of smile. I'm really wondering why they are called the city of smiles but the people here are really approachable though the mask are scaring me in someways. After all the mishaps that I had went through in going to this city, including the ship that had been super delay and not-so-good-accomodation and HAD TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WHICH I THOUGH ITS GONNA SINK. Sorry but I can't help my hysterical madness to blurt out because of what happened during my journey to this city which already had come to an end and I had been lucky enough to have everything arranged before the end of the day today. It was stressful, tiring and most of all boring staying on the ship with the intermittent signal of mobile phone carriers, what more could you ask for. But at least I was able to see some boring movies that I never dared to watch in Davao nor buff it on the internet.

So here I am, starting on this journey. Comparison, well people in Davao and Bacolod for me are alike. The place is like Gen. Santos City but a lot more progressive than that city so it could still be considered in Davao. Jeeps dont have name tags unlike in Davao City and you only need to pay 7 pesos where ever you go around the city. Ha ha! Now thats convenient. Food, cheaper but almost thesame. SM City mall, way better and a lot more people compared in Davao and they have this over pass that are only exclusive for SM which is cool to look at. And mind you, they have more than a couple of malls here so its a place I think I'll be hanging out on boredom. And also, this is the only city I think that they will be the one to provide you Internet stubs good for a couple of minutes or hours, that means no open time. Ha ha. So much for that, I'm going to sleep now. I call this a day.

How Women Think

Here are some common expression of women that will be very useful for men, especially for dates or just common talk. I know its very hard to deal with women sometimes, but if your able have an idea of whats this expression are all about, it won't be a worry to you anymore. Hope this will be useful for men out there. Got this one from Lovefatedestiny.com

- FINE
This is the word women use to end an argument when they feel they are right and you need to shut up. Never use "fine" to describe how a woman looks - this will cause you to have one of those arguments.

- FIVE MINUTES
This is half an hour. It is equivalent to the five minutes that your football game is going to last before you take out the trash, so it's an even trade.

- NOTHING
This means "something," and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards. "Nothing" usually signifies an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with "Fine"

- GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows)
This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine"

- GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows)
This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care" You will get a "Raised Eyebrow Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off. LOUD SIGH This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "Loud Sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you over "Nothing"

- SOFT SIGH
Again, not a word, but a non-verbal statement. "Soft Sighs" mean that she is content. Your best bet is to not move or breathe, and she will stay content.

- THAT'S OKAY
This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. "That's Okay" is often used with the word "Fine" and in conjunction with a "Raised Eyebrow."

- GO AHEAD
At some point in the near future! re, you are going to be in some mighty big trouble. PLEASE DO This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay"

- THANKS
A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say you're welcome. THANKS A LOT This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticked off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh." Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh," as she will only tell you "Nothing"

Top Ten Scariest Scams

Halloween is almost at its end, I think it already did because Halloween is celebrated on November 1 and not 2. So yeah, I am pretty sure you'd had your fright and scares and other things. But what could be more scarier especially now a days in the scams that are lingering everywhere in the society. For us, it might appear as a great deal but what we don't know, they could be taking more than what we are expecting. Here is the the top ten scariest scams that I had read from Lovemoney.com by Cliff D' Arcy. And I would even testify I had experience some of these scams that I almost would dig in. This would be a good guide for everybody especially Yuletide season is almost coming days from now.

(#1) Advance-Fee Fraud

When it comes to scams, advance-fee fraud is probably the oldest and most well-established confidence trick.

It's also one of the simplest: the conman asks you for money upfront and promises to hand you a much larger sum. One of the most common examples is the 'Nigerian 419' scam.

This involves an email - allegedly from a corrupt official or banker - offering you a share of a huge windfall in return for your help in smuggling these millions out of Nigeria or another country. After handing over various handling fees, bribes and customs duties, you sit back and await your £5 million.

Of course, this reward never arrives, leaving you hugely out of pocket.

(#2) Bogus Lotteries

This variation on advance-fee fraud starts with you receiving an email, fax or call informing you that you've won a major prize in a foreign lottery. In order to bag your treasure, you need to hand over fees to cover assorted administration and customs charges, insurance and taxes.

Of course, this is pure fantasy, as you don't win a lottery without first buying a ticket.

Also, genuine lotteries don't ask for any money upfront other than the ticket price. Unfortunately, lottery crooks usually target older people: four in five victims of this fraud are over 65.

Thus, if granny mentions that she's won a major lottery prize, make sure that it's coming from Camelot and not a fake lottery.

(#3) Boiler Rooms

Getting involved with a 'boiler room' share scam can lose you your life savings.

As with most scams, the boiler-room swindle is quite simple: scammers call or email investors to promote 'hot stocks' which they claim will prove to be the deal of a lifetime.

These must-have shares turn out to be worthless pieces of paper, offering ownership of imaginary, worthless or loss-making firms. Instead of earning bumper returns, boiler-room victims often lose every penny.

Surprisingly, many of those duped by boiler rooms are experienced investors, often with 20+ years of share-dealing behind them.

(#4) Cashback Fraud

This swindle (known as criminal cashback) works because cheques take longer to clear than electronic bank transfers.

It usually starts when you advertise something for sale, such as a car. A buyer agrees to pay your asking price, but sends you a cheque or banker's draft for a larger sum.

He then asks you to bank his cheque and send him a money transfer for the difference.

Sure enough, his cheque bounces a few days after your instantaneous money transfer has left your account. You're now out of pocket, often to the tune of £1,000 or more, and looking for a bogus buyer who's scarpered.

(#5) Gambling Syndicates

If you want to get taken for a ride, then pay to join a gambling syndicate which offers tips to help you beat the bookies.

Forking out for daily or weekly predictions for horse-racing or football results, or buying betting software, is simply throwing your money away.

One classic example of this mug's game was the KF Concept, operated by former cabbie Kevin Foster. Around 8,500 'investors' lost their cash when KFC was closed down by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). In 2005, Mr Foster was bankrupted with debts of £36 million and he was later charged with theft.

Needless to say, there is no sure-fire way of beating the bookies, although feel free to buy shares in Ladbrokes or William Hill if you want to benefit from betting...

(#6) Land Banking

This simple swindle involves selling small plots of land to property-obsessed Brits. Land-banking firms claim that the value of this land will rocket when it is sold to developers after planning permission is obtained.

Sounds feasible, right?

Sadly, investors soon find that all their £5,000+ has bought is a patch of a field in the middle of nowhere. Often, their square of grass is in a green-belt area and has zero chance of being built on or developed.

One notorious land-banker, United Kingdom Land Investments, was closed down by the FSA in June 2008, with 4,500 buyers nursing losses approaching £69 million.

(#7) 'Make a Million' Seminars

There are more 'get rich quick' schemes being advertised in the UK than you can shake a stick at. Typically, these seminars promise massive returns thanks to a fool-proof (but secret) way to buy shares or property.

These 'become a millionaire' schemes can indeed make you seriously rich, but only if you are selling them.

One infamous example is Inside Track, which dangled the dream of massive wealth to be made from buy-to-let investing. Inside Track's initial presentations were free, but its inner secrets were available only by paying £2,495 for a follow-up workshop.

As the property market started to tank in the summer 2007, Inside Track duly followed suit, going into administration in April 2008.

(#8) Phishing

Crooks send billions of spam emails with the intention of phishing: stealing your online banking details. Often, these unwanted messages pose as official messages from your bank or another financial organisation.

If you are conned into handing over your banking details and passwords, then spammers will use this information to hack into your online accounts and steal every penny.

So, don't open bogus emails and never click on their links. Instead, keep an eye on your Internet security.

(#9) Ponzi

In December 2008, Bernard Madoff made headlines all over the world when it was revealed that his apparently successful hedge fund was, in fact, a Ponzi scheme. Since the mid-Nineties, Madoff had been collecting money from new investors and using this money to pay bogus returns to his existing investors.

Pyramid schemes of this kind are often known as Ponzi schemes, after an American swindler named Charles Ponzi who claimed to use postal coupons in order to turn $100 into $150 within 45 days.

When his scheme was exposed as a con trick in 1920, Ponzi's victims lost millions of dollars and he went to jail.

(#10) Timeshare Scams

The timeshare market - buying holiday weeks in overseas properties - enjoys a reputation for sharp practices and hard selling.

This isn't helped by the huge number of frauds involving timeshares, often singling out British victims and carried out in Mediterranean countries, especially Spain.

In most cases, these timeshare tricks are just advance-fee fraud: conning people out of upfront fees in return for phony promises to find a buyer for timeshares. Naturally, once you've handed over your finder's fee, broker and buyer vanish and you've thrown good money after bad. Learn more about timeshare scams.

If these scams haven't raised the hairs on the back of your neck, then you're clearly a smart cookie, so well done!
